Control Center

This is the area of the platform where you manage data of yours that is relevant for the Data Intelligence Hub. Data that you want to process in the workspace or offer in the Marketplace must be available in the Control Center: this can be done either by uploading it from your PC or server or by obtaining it from the Marketplace.
All files and data sources are entered in the Storage. Under Data, Offers, and Orders, you can find the respective relevant subset of your data, for ease of administration.

An organization account is required to ensure the full scope of function. Some of the functions described here are not available in an individual user’s Control Center.

On the following pages, the use of the Control Center is described as you would experience it if you were a member of an organization logged in with administrator rights – supplemented with notes on personal use.

Personal area and organization

Depending on whether you are logged in to your personal account or the account of your organization, you will either see your own personal Control Center or that of the organization. You can switch between the areas using the account selection menu on the top right of the page, logging in again as you do so.

Overview

Organization account

On your first visit, three linked info boxes (tiles) will indicate the options available in the Control Center.

Data

If no data has been uploaded yet, the “Data” tile will contain information text at the top, below which there will be a button guiding you to the Data area.

Offers

There must be data in the Control Center in order to create an offer. If no data has been uploaded yet, the “Offers” tile will contain information text at the top, below which there will be a button guiding you to the Offers area.

Orders

If no data has been ordered yet, the “Orders” tile will contain information text at the top, below which there will be a button linking you to the Marketplace.

With further use, the overview page for the area will show the current activity in the Control Center:

Data

In the top area of the tile, you can see how many files or data sources are available for use. This is data that you or an administrator from your organization have uploaded from your PC or server.

In the bottom area of the tile, the data which was last used is listed.

The tile links to the Data sub-page in the Control Center.

Offers

In the top area of the tile, you can see how many of your organization’s offers are currently published in the Marketplace.

The most recently edited offers are shown in the bottom area of the tile.

The tile links to the Offers sub-page in the Control Center.

Orders

In the top area of the tile, you can see the number of all of your previous orders in the Marketplace.

Your last orders are shown in the bottom area of the tile.

Personal Account

The personal area of the Data Intelligence Hub is limited in functionality.
Unlike registered organizations, you cannot offer data in the Marketplace, for example.

As a team member of an organization, you will only see the “Data” and “Orders” tiles in your personal area.

For individual users who do not belong to a registered organization, clicking on the “Offers” tile will open a “Benefits for registered organizations” overlay.

Data

In this area of the Control Center, data can be edited and processed.

This data can be made available by your organization’s administrator.

As a regular user, you can also upload data required for projects or offers from your PC or server.

Add data
  • No data yet: Click on the “+” button below the text to “Add data”.
  • Data available: Add further data by clicking on the “+” button on the top right
A form will open in an overlay. Enter a name for the file or source there.
In the “File or source” section, you can select from the options “Upload” and “API import”.

Upload data (“Upload” tab)

Upload the data either

  • using drag-and-drop or
  • by searching the server/PC, selecting a file and uploading it

Convert data

At this stage, you can provide your data in additional formats: make a pre-selection using the slider and activate the corresponding checkbox.

You can delete data that has been converted unnecessarily by clicking on the delete symbol, if required.
Now you just have to click “Save”.

The overlay closes, and you can see an overview of the DATA area with the original and converted files.

Import data (“API import” tab)

Enter the API endpoint.

Decide between the options

  • One-time import: “Never” option field
  • Import with updates: “Periodically” option field
Select the unit and the interval in the selection menu below this (every … minutes, hours, months, days, weekly on …).

Then “Save”.

A status message tells you if the input is valid and if the API has been validated.

Advanced settings

During upload and data import, you will see “Advanced settings” underneath the “Add” dialog, which you can expand using the arrow button.

Time reference

Does this data refer to a specific time period or several time periods? Then select the option “Yes”.
As soon as you click on one of the date fields, a calendar view will open. Define the desired time period by

  • using the arrow buttons to choose the month in the current year and selecting your start and end date in these months.
  • If the time period you are looking for is more than a year long, click on the month – this opens a second, smaller calendar view with months and the current year above it. Use the arrows to move to the year in which the period begins. Click on the month and then select the day you are looking for from the monthly view.
  • Follow the same process to find the end of the time period – jump to the year in question, click on the month, select the day.

Geospatial reference

Does this data refer to a specific location or region? Then select the option “Yes”.
On the map that then opens, you can assign the data to a region by

  • zooming in with “+” and “–” and moving the map with the cursor
  • setting the marker at the desired location by using drag-and-drop
  • drawing a polygon consisting of as many markers as required. Close the form by clicking on the first set point.

Date information

This information is automatically generated at the time of creation and modification. Manually correcting this is not recommended. If that is necessary in an individual case, however, you can modify the dates here, by selecting from the calendar which opens (see info above under Time reference).

Save data

Is all of the data correct and complete? Then click on “Save”. The file upload status will be indicated by a progress bar.

“Add data” completed

Once the data has been transferred, converted, and checked, the overlay will close, and you will see the overview of the Data area (again) with all files and data sources, including the data that has just been uploaded, and, if relevant, converted and imported. Since the data check can take some time, you can close the overlay and start working on a different task.

Overview

Initially, the following sorting criteria can be seen in four columns:

  • Name (A – Z, Z – A)
  • Added on
  • Status
  • Stored in

Status

The information in the “Status” column in your list of data informs you about the upload/import, conversion, and checking statuses:

  • “In progress”: the upload or import, data checking, or conversion process is currently running …
  • “Error”: File damaged, source cannot be accessed …
  • “OK”: File is free of errors

Sort

Click on the column title to open a selection menu with two sections:

  • Sequence: sort your data in ascending or descending order, depending on context (alphabetically by storage location, chronologically by date/vice versa, etc.)
  • Do you need a different sorting criterion? Select a criterion from the list (Version, Added by, etc.), and it will be used instead of the criterion previously displayed in this column.

Edit

As soon as you activate a checkbox next to a file or source, the editing menu to the left above the list can be used.

With this, data can be

  • viewed (detailed view with status, path, all information); the “Edit” button opens an overlay

The editing menu on the left above the list can be used as soon as you activate a checkbox next to an offer.

With this, individual offers can be:

  • deleted
  • edited (modify a number of elements): an overlay opens
  • duplicated: a copy is created and saved so you can quickly create offers with similar content
  • viewed (detailed view)

If you activate several checkboxes, only the trashcan symbol can be used.

Filters

With the filters above the list
